There’s hardly any product where sewing thread is not used and one can find it in almost every industry across the globe. However, with production comes waste!
Here it is important to mention that every year around 92 million tonnes of textile waste is generated, of which a very small percentage is effectively recycled, with majority of them being burned or deposited in landfills.
And who understands it better than the Germany-based AMANN Group — one of the leading international manufacturers of high-quality sewing threads, embroidery threads and smart yarns.
Understanding the need for sustainability in the textile industry, the Group entered into the United Nations Global Compact right at the onset of 2019.
The United Nations (UN) has nominated 50 global leaders in sustainability and climate protection and, notably, AMANN Group has been presented as representing the textile sector.
The UN has also produced a short film on each of the 50 nominated companies, highlighting the particular commitment of the respective company to sustainability and climate protection.
The short film on AMANN Group can be viewed on YouTube.

Over the years, AMANN Group has been advancing products to make them more sustainable by using selected natural and recycled materials.
