(Chicago, IL and Atlanta, GA - May 11, 2022) Xochil Herrera Scheer, pattern engineer and founder of XOCHIL INC / The Chicago Pattern Maker, partners with Texprocess Americas to present “The Studio”, an educational floor talk series taking place all three days of the conference. Xochil has thoroughly planned the ten-part series with Shoshana Burgett, industry strategist and founder of Color Karma, leading discussion topics with other industry leaders including: Tukatech, Henderson Sewing Machine Co., Alvanon, Shima Seiki, and Exenta from Aptean. Topics to be discussed include Sewing and Robotics, Innovations in Knitwear, 3D Prototyping and the Digital Twin, and the Smart Microfactory of the future.
Xochil Herrera Scheer is "The Chicago Pattern Maker"; she provides pattern making and product development design services to businesses throughout the US. Xochil and her team bring strong expertise and genuine care to collaborate with brands, guiding them through the pre-production prototyping process, with the goal of creating beautiful and functional products that are ready to take to market. As a Tukatech brand ambassador and TUKA Center, Xochil will also spend time within the Tukatech booth, where they will be running a fully operational factory showing the process from design to cut and sew finished garments.
Named a "Rising Star" by SPESA in 2021, Xochil has a keen understanding of the development and production process through her network of factories and suppliers. She is very passionate about Made in USA products, ethical sourcing and manufacturing, and is an active member of the SEAMS Association, and a board member of the Chicago-based AIBI organization. Xochil is also an adjunct instructor in Fashion Studies at Columbia College Chicago.
Texprocess Americas, co-produced by Messe Frankfurt and SPESA, provides three days of the largest sewn products and technology trade show in the Americas. The show unites manufacturers, distributors, and a variety of innovative specialists to explore the forward moving technology of the textile industry. Complete with a highly accredited educational symposium, guests are able to listen to industry leaders as they discuss the most pivotal advances in research and technology.
