RALEIGH, N.C. – April 8, 2026 – The Sewn Products Equipment & Suppliers of the Americas (SPESA) is excited to announce a new membership scheme designed to provide greater flexibility and value for its members, and more opportunities for engagement within the sewn products industry.
With input from its members and Board of Directors, and after an analysis of similar organizations in other sectors and the needs of the industry, SPESA has created a new tailored approach to membership, ensuring that levels and benefits align with the unique needs of each member. This includes distinguishing between companies that exhibit at SPESA’s industry trade show Texprocess Americas — and receive discounted booth space at the show — and those that do not.
The new SPESA Membership Levels are as follows:
Industry Leader | Designed for suppliers seeking maximum visibility and engagement in the sewn products industry. This tier is designed for those who want full access to SPESA’s programs, leadership opportunities, and exhibit benefits at Texprocess Americas.
Industry Member | Designed for businesses and organizations that participate in or support the sewn products industry but do not exhibit at Texprocess Americas.
Community Partner | Designed for universities, nonprofit organizations, and associations that share SPESA’s mission to advance the sewn products industry.
Individual Member | Designed for individuals that participate in or support the sewn products industry but do not receive a discount at Texprocess Americas.
The transition to the new membership levels will officially begin May 1, 2026, in coordination with SPESA’s membership year (May-April). More details, including the dues amount and the benefits of each membership tier, are available on the SPESA website here.
“Our goal is simple: to provide meaningful, relevant benefits that directly support your business,” says SPESA President Michael McDonald. “For most SPESA members, the Industry Leader level — which most closely aligns with SPESA’s previous membership scheme — will still be the best fit. But, as the cost of doing business continues to rise for pretty much everyone in our industry, we wanted to ensure that SPESA membership remains accessible and beneficial to anyone and everyone who supports the sewn product industry. We believe these updates will better align with our members’ individual needs and enhance the overall SPESA membership experience.”
